Mike Garrett joined Garrett and Company, LLC, along with his two brothers as a partner in 1972. Mike is manager of BuildBlock Building Systems, LLC, an insulated concrete form building system which was developed by Mike in 2004. BuildBlock has been one of the fastest growing ICF companies in North America since its start up.
Now with 12 manufacturing locations in the United States and several foreign Licensee's around the world BuildBlock is poised to continue this rapid growth and will be instrumental in the housing and commercial construction industries. BuildBlock has also been the major structural wall system in the development of The Triangle properties in downtown Oklahoma City.
Mike is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business and public administration and a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Mike attended Aetna’s Property and casualty school in Hartford Connecticut after graduating from OSU. He worked in the Garrett and Company Insurance Agency for two years, later gravitating to other family business's dealing with home and building construction. He started Garrett Building Materials in the early 1990's before developing the BuildBlock Products which now consume the majority of his time.
Mike has been a licensed commercial and private pilot since 1973 and has built 4 experimental aircraft and consistently flies two of them today.
He and his wife Pamela have three children, Christin, Elizabeth and Micah and three granddaughters, Anna, Caroline, and Kaylan. They both attend Our Lord's Community Church in Oklahoma City and are active in other ministry opportunities.
